Emergency Services & Public Safety
First responders and public safety teams require uninterrupted mobile communications in any environment. Zonegen provides the in-building signal infrastructure that supports reliable connectivity in challenging buildings where signal failure is never acceptable.
- Reliable in-building signal for police, fire and ambulance communications
- Coverage in challenging environments — basements, stairwells, vaults
- Supports both 4G and 5G public safety communications
- Fully compliant with Ofcom licensing requirements
- Designed and installed to the most demanding specification
Do signal boosters work in emergency services and public safety buildings?
Yes — Zonegen installs Nextivity Cel-Fi systems that give reliable public mobile signal (EE, O2 and VodafoneThree, 4G and 5G) inside stations, control rooms and difficult spaces such as basements and stairwells. Cel-Fi boosts public mobile networks; it does not boost TETRA or Airwave radio. Every system is quoted after survey.
The problem
Why is mobile signal poor in emergency services and public safety buildings?
Hardened buildings
Stations and control rooms are built with heavy, secure construction that blocks signal.
Basements, cells and vaults
Below-ground custody, storage and plant areas need dependable coverage.
Mobile-first working
Officers and crews increasingly use smartphones and mobile data for apps, records and communications.
No room for failure
Coverage must be designed and installed to a demanding specification and tested throughout.
The solution
Which signal booster is right for emergency services and public safety buildings?
Zonegen recommends the system after a free consultation — never more than your building needs. Prices shown are starting prices; your exact price is confirmed after consultation.
Cel-Fi GO G43
From £5,995
Multi-operator booster — EE, O2 and VodafoneThree from one unit.
Best for: Smaller stations and offices — all three networks.
Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000e
Quoted after survey
Enterprise system for all UK networks. Up to 12 Coverage Units per system, and the Fibre Range Extender bridges up to 2 km between buildings.
Best for: Large stations, HQs and control rooms needing every network.
How it works
How does a Zonegen installation work?
- 1
Free consultation
Tell us about the building, the signal problem and which networks you need. You get a price guide with no obligation.
- 2
Site survey
An engineer tests signal inside and out, assesses construction and plans cable routes. The survey cost is refunded if you go ahead.
- 3
Installation
Your Cel-Fi system is installed neatly and commissioned. Small sites are usually done in a day; larger sites are scheduled around you.
- 4
Testing and aftercare
Signal is tested throughout before handover. Optional monitoring keeps an eye on performance remotely.
FAQs
Questions about signal boosters for emergency services and public safety buildings
Is Cel-Fi suitable for police, fire and ambulance communications?
Yes, for communications that use public mobile networks. Cel-Fi boosts EE, O2 and VodafoneThree 4G and 5G indoors, supporting smartphones, mobile data and apps.
Does Cel-Fi boost TETRA or Airwave radio?
No. Cel-Fi boosts public mobile networks only. Dedicated radio systems such as TETRA or Airwave need separate in-building radio solutions.
Does it support the Emergency Services Network?
The planned Emergency Services Network (ESN) runs over EE's 4G network. A Cel-Fi system boosting EE improves EE 4G signal indoors, but ESN-specific requirements should be confirmed with your programme team.
Can you work within secure sites?
Yes. Access, vetting and working arrangements are agreed in advance at survey.
How is an emergency services system priced?
Each building is surveyed and quoted individually. The survey cost is refunded if you go ahead.
